Om Bleik Beach
Bleik Beach on Andøya Island is one of the longest beaches in Norway and its white sands are more reminiscent of a tropical paradise than a small island above the arctic circle.
The beach attracts visitors all year round. During the endless summer days locals come to sunbathe and even swim, while adventurous souls fight the cold during winter to get a glimpse of the dancing northern lights.
The triangular island that rises opposite Bleik Beach is Bleiksøya, home to the largest puffin colony in Vesterålen. It is estimated that there are 70,000 pairs of the birds inhabiting the island. An organised safari around Bleiksøya is avilable in the summer, but going on shore is prohibited between April 15th and July 31st .
Combine a visit to the beach with an easy hike around Beliksmorenen Nature Reserve.
